THE Daily Dig

I’ll admit it. The idea of “Chakras” was pretty much the last thing I was able to embrace as I’ve traveled along my path to a deeper understanding of myself and the layers of the world around me.

It felt foolish to believe in something I couldn’t feel or see, and it made me feel just a little too “out there” and into the spiritual woo if I entertained the idea that our bodies have centers of energy that impact and govern our physical, emotional, and mental well-being.

But the truth is, there are far too many people in this world (my best friend/roommate/partner-in-crime being one of them!) who can see and feel this energy and these energy centers to continue to dismiss it out of hand. I realized that continuing to reject the idea simply because I couldn’t sense the energy, could be likened to a blind man sitting in the warmth of the sun, but rejecting its existence because he couldn’t see it.

Much like the unseen warmth of the sun that impacts every aspect of our lives, the unseen energy within our chakras constantly whirs around and through us, affecting everything about us … our physical condition, our emotional balance, even every choice and decision we make from moment to moment. So taking extra steps to make sure those energy centers are in tip top condition is vital to our well-being and our continued path to our truth and our awakening.

To that end, if this is a new concept for you, I wholeheartedly recommend doing a little reading about chakras. Become familiar with how they work, and learn more about the steps you can take to improve their function.

You can start with my little bare-bones “beginner’s course” and exercise here. But using the handy dandy google to find some more complete sources of information would be a great next step. I recently came across this blog post and thought it was an extremely well done introduction. And as for physical books, Chakra Awakening by Margaret Ann Lembo was the one I had on hand and got great info from as I began my journey, and I love the well-researched book recommendations made here by this blogger, as well.

So, if you were needing a little push to dig deeper and take those chakras seriously, it’s a service I provide. 😉

Dig deep, and dig life!
